Robbie Williams arrives in Melbourne for Cup performance despite exhaustion

British pop star Robbie Williams arrived in Melbourne Monday after a 32-hour flight from Mexico, getting only 20 minutes sleep.

Robbie Williams arrived in Melbourne Monday to perform at the Melbourne Cup, flying 32 hours from Mexico through Los Angeles and Sydney while sleeping just 20 minutes. Williams will perform four songs in the mounting yard before the Cup and then do a full show at Flemington's festival site in The Elms enclosure after the last race.

Williams previously performed at the 2022 AFL Grand Final and changed the standard of pre-match entertainment. Williams said Melbourne is his spiritual home and he takes the Cup's cultural importance seriously.

His Britpop tour will bring him to Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on November 11.
