The Hawks, who began the season 0-2 and recently parted ways with champion player Darius Days, could not keep pace. Sam Froling scored 21 points in his 200th game for the Hawks, and Kelan Martin added 21 points and seven rebounds.
Sydney dominated the second quarter with a 20-4 scoring run to build a commanding halftime lead. Torrey Craig contributed 20 points for Sydney despite a leg injury.
The loss marks another difficult outing for the Hawks early in their campaign.
