Prince Harry and Elton John appeal privacy case against Daily Mail

Six people, including Prince Harry and Elton John, are seeking to appeal the dismissal of their privacy lawsuits against the Daily Mail.

Prince Harry, Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley and three others are attempting to overturn the rejection of their privacy cases. The six claimants sued Associated Newspapers over alleged unlawful information gathering.

The six claimants alleged the publisher used private investigators between 1993 and 2011. London's High Court dismissed their cases entirely in July.

The court also ruled the claimants could face higher legal bills. The claimants' lawyer said they have now applied for permission to appeal both the dismissal and the cost order.

The lawyer stated they believe the court's decisions were legally and factually flawed. Harry has previously won cases against other British publishers.

He recently returned to Britain from the US with his wife Meghan.
