Bailey Smith wins Geelong's best and fairest award
Bailey Smith won the Carji Greeves Medal with 178 votes, finishing ahead of Max Holmes.
Smith capped a standout season by winning Geelong's best and fairest award at the club's count on Tuesday. The midfielder polled 178 votes, well ahead of Max Holmes (151 votes) and Shaun Mannagh (131 votes).
Smith played 24 of a possible 25 games, averaging a career-high 32.3 possessions per game, including three matches where he collected over 40 disposals. Smith was also named All-Australian for the second straight year and finished second in the Brownlow Medal behind Collingwood's Nick Daicos.
Mannagh enjoyed his best season, splitting time between defence and midfield while kicking 38 goals.
