Isaac Heeney wins third Bob Skilton Medal despite suspension
Isaac Heeney won his third consecutive Bob Skilton Medal as Sydney's best and fairest despite being suspended for a behavioural breach.
Isaac Heeney won the Bob Skilton Medal for the third consecutive year as Sydney's best and fairest player, even though he was suspended after round 23 for breaching the club's behavioural standards. Heeney polled 431 votes, ahead of ruckman Brodie Grundy on 400 and forward Charlie Curnow on 398.
The 30-year-old now sits level with seven other club greats including Adam Goodes and Josh Kennedy, who have won the award three times. Sydney chair Andrew Pridham said the club separated on-field performance from off-field conduct, treating the medals as recognition of football played across the whole season.
Heeney played 20 games this year and finished ranked above average for most statistics and elite for clearances.
