Melbourne grandmother with dementia missing since Sunday morning
Janet Knight, 73, disappeared from Niddrie on Sunday morning without her phone, wallet or Fitbit.
Janet Knight left her home in Keilor East at about 6.57am on Sunday and was last spotted walking towards Keilor Rd in Niddrie at 7.38am. Janet Knight has dementia and rarely leaves home without her phone, wallet and Fitbit fitness tracker, which has alarmed police and her family.
Cold, wet weather and the nearby Steele Creek have added to concerns, with police warning of flood risks on local tracks. Knight is a regular walker who knows the area well.
Her daughter Nicole says her mother has a rare, aggressive form of dementia affecting her speech, though her memory remains better. Police said none of Knight's belongings have been found, with searches continuing in areas surrounding Niddrie.
Anyone who sees her or has information is urged to call police.
