Novotel opens new St Kilda base after beachfront demolition
Novotel has reopened in St Kilda at a new Fitzroy Street address with 80 rooms and a $15 million redesign.
The Novotel brand is returning to St Kilda after its original beachfront site was demolished in 2019. It's now taking over the former Saint Kilda Beach Hotel on Fitzroy Street.
The new Novotel features 80 rooms redesigned around a light-filled garden atrium. The ground floor has an Urban Kitchen & Bar serving up to 120 diners.
It also has flexible coworking space and a rooftop event area. This is part of a broader revival of the strip.
The Esplanade Hotel and Prince are also undergoing major refurbishment. St Kilda's hospitality sector is reshaping itself around food-led venues rather than traditional pubs.
