Trump fixates on media criticism in TIME interview
Trump spent most of a TIME interview complaining about media instead of discussing policy.
Trump opened and closed his interview with grievances about news outlets. Trump told TIME reporters: "You haven't asked me one positive question."
Even when asked about Iran or the Senate, he steered back to his feelings about the press. The interview followed Trump's recent banning of CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, an action a federal judge stopped last week.
Trump claimed he wants "fair" coverage and separated real and "fake" news, suggesting he should decide which is which. The TIME reporters pushed back on his press restrictions.
Trump now holds the record for most TIME magazine covers with 56 appearances, surpassing President Richard Nixon.
