Wollongong opens iconic Stuart Park skydiving licence to tender
Wollongong seeks a new operator for Stuart Park's skydiving business.
On November 4, the council called for expressions of interest to run skydiving at the beachside park. The operation includes landing areas in Stuart Park and Thomas Dalton Park in Fairy Meadow, and a lease on the former caretaker's cottage.
The council first approved commercial skydiving in Stuart Park in 1998. The current operator, Skydive Wollongong, will keep operating during the tender process.
The council wants qualified operators who deliver a safe experience and protect public and heritage assets. Expressions of interest close on November 24.
The successful operator will get a 10-year licence and lease.
