Seventh driving offence puts man in line for jail
Noel Hall pleaded guilty to drink-driving and abusive language; magistrate signals jail likely.
Hall was breath-tested after being pulled over on March 6. Noel Robert Hall returned a positive breath test with blood alcohol of 0.126, then lit a cigarette.
When told to put it out, he refused and abused the officer. Hall appeared in Launceston Magistrate Court on October 7, pleading guilty to three charges: hindering conveyance, abusive language, and two driving offences.
This marks his seventh driving offence since the 1990s, a record which holds numerous convictions for drink-and drug-driving. Deputy chief magistrate Ken Stanton said he had to start considering jail time.
