Greens kept secret Steele-John dossier for ten years

The Greens kept a secret file for a decade. It recorded allegations against Senator Jordon Steele-John. It included plans to manage media coverage.

The Greens party kept a secret file for ten years that recorded allegations against federal Senator Jordon Steele-John. Seven party members wrote to leader David Shoebridge this week with complaints about his behaviour toward women between 2017 and 2025.

Steele-John denies the claims and says they are not specific. Shoebridge ordered an independent investigation into inappropriate comments allegedly made by the senator.

The party's four WA state MPs called for the inquiry results to be made public. They want the investigation to examine how the Greens handled this matter.

The file was stored on Google Drive and updated over the years. It had instructions to watch social media and manage press coverage of the allegations.
