Dog rescued after days stranded on Denman Prospect apartment roof

A dog stranded on a Denman Prospect apartment roof for four days climbed down safely after neighbours fed it.

A dog trapped on the roof of an apartment complex in Denman Prospect made its own way down over the weekend. It had been stranded since Friday.

The dog had been jumping between a balcony of its home and a nearby roof. This left residents worried about its safety.

ACT Fire and Rescue attended on Sunday morning. They decided it was too risky for firefighters to climb to the roof.

Instead, they and neighbours threw food up to the dog. Superintendent Greg Mason said this was the first call-out of its kind to a multi-storey building.

The dog managed to get down on Sunday evening. Its owners likely had returned.
