Canterbury Road closed as building fire erupts in western Sydney
A building fire on Canterbury Road in Lakemba has forced a complete closure of the road between Haldon and Dennis streets.
Canterbury Road in Lakemba has been shut down in both directions as Fire and Rescue NSW crews respond to a building fire. At least half a dozen fire trucks and police vehicles are on scene with lights flashing.
Commuters have been urged to use alternative routes and allow extra time. Light vehicles can divert through local streets, while heavy vehicles have been directed to use Punchbowl Rd, Georges River Rd, or the M5 Motorway.
