Douglas and Zeta-Jones reflect on marriage after 2013 separation

Michael Douglas says his 26-year marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones remains strong despite their brief 2013 separation.

Michael Douglas met Catherine Zeta-Jones at the 1998 Deauville film festival when he was 53 and she was 28. Douglas and Zeta-Jones married in 2000 at the Plaza Hotel in New York and have two adult children, Dylan and Carys.

The couple separated briefly in 2013 but reconciled within a year. Douglas, now 82, told the Sunday Times that marriage requires real commitment.

"Marriage is a lot of work," he said. They celebrated their silver wedding anniversary last year, and Douglas's memoir was released this week.
