Port Adelaide keeps Richmond alive for Butters trade as Dogs negotiate
Port Adelaide prefers trading restricted free agent Zak Butters to a lower-placed team rather than the Bulldogs.
Port Adelaide is looking at different options to solve the Zak Butters situation. List boss Jason Cripps said the club would take Pick 5 as compensation.
Port Adelaide could match an offer from the Western Bulldogs to force a trade instead. Cripps also said that Richmond still has a chance.
He said he would rather talk with a team closer to the bottom of the ladder. The Bulldogs are still working on a deal structure.
Port is also open to moving Todd Marshall in a salary-dump deal. But they rejected any move involving the Bulldogs.
