Australians slash grocery bills with AI apps comparing 50,000 shops
Grocery comparison apps help Australian families cut their grocery bills by shopping across multiple retailers.
Australian families are turning to AI grocery apps to combat soaring food costs. Prices have jumped 25 per cent over five years, forcing households to stretch tight budgets.
Apps like Zyft now compare prices across 50,000 Australian retailers and 140 million products in real time. New data shows shoppers can cut a typical $290 bill down to $217 by visiting different shops for the best deals.
The method, called split shopping, uses different retailers' pricing on individual items. Some of the biggest household bargains are found outside supermarkets.
These include pharmacies, discount stores and hardware shops. But experts warn that fuel costs from driving between stores can eat into savings.
