Star Hotel Tumut on the market for $1.55m as local owners step aside
The two-storey Star Hotel, a Tumut landmark, is on the market for $1.55 million as local owners move in different directions.
One of Tumut's most recognisable pubs is on the market after more than a century as a local institution. The Star Hotel, a late Victorian building at 59 Russell Street, is being offered as a freehold property with about 2638 square metres of land.
The sale includes seven upstairs rooms, a function room, bistro, bar and commercial kitchen, plus onsite parking and a garage. The current local partnership is selling because owners are moving in different directions.
Some are leaving town and one needs to care for an elderly relative. The pub has a 1:30 am liquor licence but no gaming machines or poker tables.
A hotel broker said the business has shown steady revenue growth.
