The magazine surveyed about 300,000 readers worldwide. Melbourne scored 98.52, just ahead of Porto's 98.33.

Readers praised the city's warm locals, helpful residents, and easy-to-navigate public transport. The award noted Melbourne's coffee culture, Victorian architecture, graffiti alleyways, and strong work-life balance.

Perth also made the top 10 at number 6 with a score of 97.28. Sydney, which appeared on the 2025 list, did not rank this year.

Visit Victoria's chief executive said the recognition reflected the city's wonderful people and tourism operators.
