Four Melbourne driveways hit in firebombing attacks over three days

An arsonist targeted four separate locations across Melbourne in three days, setting cars and buildings alight.

Melbourne police are investigating a series of arson attacks across the city. On Tuesday night at 11:20pm, a man rammed a vehicle into a fruit and vegetable shop in Werribee and tried to set it on fire before fleeing.

About two hours later, two cars caught fire on Greythorn Rd in Balwyn North, and the flames spread to a neighbouring house. A teenager was critically injured in an earlier attack on Monday morning in Taylors Hill.

Another vehicle fire was reported Wednesday morning on Dunedin St in Maidstone, with flames reaching a two-storey home next door. Two residents escaped the Maidstone fire unharmed.

No arrests have been made and investigations remain ongoing.

Why it mattersA pattern of attacks suggests a deliberate campaign, putting residents and their homes at serious risk.

AustraliaResidents across Melbourne neighbourhoods face safety concerns as police search for the person responsible for multiple fires.
