Ballarat comedian brings rental hell show home after global tour

Ballarat-born comedian Ethan Cavanagh concludes his two-year international tour of his hit show about renting from a Catholic church.

Comedian Ethan Cavanagh spent the past two years touring his comedy show Bond, Lost My Bond across the United States, Britain, Canada and New Zealand. He performed at Edinburgh Fringe, often considered the world's most renowned comedy festival.

The show centres on his experience living in a Catholic church-owned share house in Melbourne's inner north. The church owns his entire block of homes.

Cavanagh describes the show as an open letter to his property manager. At Edinburgh, he performed 55 shows in 22 days.

He spent six weeks at a Las Vegas residency and performed off-Broadway in New York. The show resonates with audiences sharing their own rental nightmares.

Cavanagh will perform the final Australian show in his hometown Ballarat on October 10 before writing a new show.
