Greta bus crash families demand access to investigative files before 2027 trial
Families are seeking investigative files before their 2027 class action hearing.
Lawyers representing families and survivors of the Greta bus crash are fighting for access to documents that formed the basis of a major safety investigation. Ten wedding guests died and 25 were injured when a coach rolled at a Wine Country Drive roundabout on 11 June 2023.
The bus driver was jailed in 2024 after being found to have taken prescription painkillers and driven too fast. Families sued Transport for NSW, alleging the roundabout design contributed to the crash.
A safety investigation report published in July found multiple safety systems had failed. A court ordered access to the investigative files, though some defendants may challenge what lawyers can see.
A liability hearing is expected in late 2027 at the earliest.
