Trial hears Lamarre-Condon stalked Baird before alleged double murder
A witness told Lamarre-Condon's double-murder trial the accused stalked Jesse Baird and sent fake photos claiming friendship with celebrities.
A former friend gave evidence in the trial of Beau Lamarre-Condon that the 31-year-old ex-police officer became infatuated with television presenter Jesse Baird and stalked him. The witness, identified as Elizabeth Kennedy, said Lamarre-Condon sent her photographs claiming to be friends with celebrities "when he was actually just stalking them".
Elizabeth Kennedy recalled he first mentioned Baird in early 2023 and grew obsessed with him, using his French bulldog as a way to tempt Baird into spending time together. The Crown alleges Lamarre-Condon shot Baird and Luke Davies in Paddington on February 19, 2024, and attempted to dispose of their bodies.
Lamarre-Condon pleads not guilty; his lawyers argue self-defence.
