Warrnambool breaks drought with first win behind Love and veteran Greer
Warrnambool defeated Northern Raiders by 22 runs with captain-coach Campbell Love and experienced Jason Greer steering the breakthrough.
Warrnambool's Moyne and District Cricket Association side has recorded its first win of the 2026-27 summer, beating Northern Raiders by 22 runs in round four on Saturday. Campbell Love, who returned to his home club from Bendigo in the off-season, took 3-22 and scored 53.
Jason Greer, in his 50s, was equally crucial with 3-23 and an unbeaten 25 down the order that steadied the innings when Warrnambool lost wickets in a row. Love said the group held its catches better than it had all year, which made the difference.
The win builds on earlier strong contributions from openers Chamika Fernando and Damon Cooper.
