Sam Butler headed to Gold Coast from Hawthorn
Sam Butler is expected to move from Hawthorn to the Gold Coast Suns, with a visit to the club likely this week.
Sam Butler, a Hawthorn half-back, looks set to leave the Hawks for the Suns. According to Seven's Tom Morris, the 33-game player is expected to visit Carrara later this week to finalise a move that he expects to get done.
Butler has been largely starved of senior opportunities at Hawthorn since arriving as a second-round pick in 2021. This season he played eight games, averaging 12 disposals and 3.5 tackles per game.
Butler is the brother of former Tiger Dan Butler and is likely to link up with Damien Hardwick, who coached Dan at Richmond.
