One killed, four wounded in shooting spree across Paris suburbs
One person died and four were seriously wounded in a multi-location shooting across Paris suburbs on Friday.
Gunshots from a vehicle struck three separate locations in Trappes and La Verrière, suburbs of Paris, on Friday. One person was killed and four others seriously wounded; the suspect was arrested at the scene.
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the weapon appeared to be military-grade or fully automatic. Trappes Mayor Ali Rabeh said the gunman fired relatively randomly at passersby, including near a playground.
France's National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's office took control of the investigation and said they will examine whether the shooting was racially motivated. The incident comes as France braces for fresh protests over the cost of living, with heightened security and museum closures planned.
