Bega Valley mother charged over severe child neglect
A Bega Valley mother faces two child neglect charges over serious harm to her children.
A Bega Valley mother was charged in NSW Local Court on Wednesday with failing to seek medical help for two children. The son developed life-threatening health complications.
The daughter was left in ongoing pain from a serious leg injury. Family, medical staff and the community had raised repeated concerns about the children's welfare, but the mother allegedly did not seek treatment.
The alleged neglect ended in April 2025. An acting judge released her on bail after hearing she has post-traumatic stress disorder and her children now live with their grandmother.
