Newcastle Jets still winless after Perth Glory defeat
Defending A-League champions Newcastle remain without a win after five games in their opening month.
Newcastle Jets, reigning A-League Men premiers, have still not won a game. Newcastle Jets lost 2-1 away to Perth Glory on Saturday, with Jaiden Kucharski scoring twice for the hosts in the 39th minute and early second half.
The Jets have now gone the entire opening month without a win across the A-League, Australia Cup and Asian Champions League. Newcastle Jets were knocked out of the Cup and lost all four Asian games.
Coach Mark Milligan acknowledged the brutal schedule after five games in just a fortnight. The team faces five weeks without A-League fixtures before a December 12 trip to Melbourne Victory.
Kucharski's brace gave him goals in consecutive games, while Perth goalkeeper Daniel Solsky made two crucial saves to keep the Jets at bay.
