Wayne Williams' legal team withdraws after failed talks with accused
The Aboriginal Legal Service withdrew from representing Wayne Williams after he repeatedly refused to meet with his lawyers.
Wayne Williams is accused of stabbing his cousin Dwayne Brian Williams in June 2023. He will no longer be represented by the lawyers who worked for him for three years.
Williams repeatedly refused to meet with solicitor David Ierace and counsel Mark Davies. Judge Sally McLaughlin allowed the lawyers to withdraw this week.
The case is adjourned to September 29. Williams, 35, faces charges of wounding with intent to murder and murder.
