Queanbeyan's Halloween maze closes after six years of scares
Six-year Queanbeyan Halloween attraction closes this weekend for the final time.
The Maze of Doom started by accident when Amy Bush and her partner had spare doors stacked in their front yard during a renovation. Joking about how visitors would never find the house, they turned it into a Halloween maze.
For six years, it has drawn families through themed sections of clowns, wanted posters, and dolls. A separate path lets kids and nervous visitors skip straight to an enchanted forest.
Each year, Amy draws floor plans and volunteers spend two weeks building walls and decorations. The maze raises money for Win The Day Charity, which helps families with children battling cancer.
It's closing because Amy and her partner have bought their own home and their former landlord is selling the property. Saturday (31 October) is open 3 pm to 10 pm, Sunday 4 pm to 9 pm.
