Suzuki Jimny price jumps $10,500 with new safety tech and touchscreen
The Jimny returns with new safety and infotainment but costs $36,490, up $10,500 since 2019.
Suzuki has relaunched the Jimny with meaningful tech upgrades after pulling it briefly off sale. The three-door now gets a 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also has new safety features: front and rear parking sensors, lane departure prevention, adaptive cruise control, and updated emergency braking. Those upgrades carry a price.
The three-door auto tested here starts at $36,490 before on-road costs. That's a $10,500 jump from its 2019 price of less than $30,000.
Buyers may notice the cabin hasn't changed in seven years. It has hard plastics and simple fittings that feel basic for the new price tag.
The Jimny remains Australia's only compact SUV built on a rugged ladder frame. This keeps it popular despite rivals like the Renault Duster and Subaru Crosstrek.
