Gateway Mining ramps up drilling after contractor bottleneck solved
Gateway deployed five drilling rigs at Yandal after solving a contractor bottleneck.
Gateway Mining has sped up its exploration push at the Yandal gold project in Western Australia. The company resolved contractor delays.
For six weeks after the Cowza discovery in September, only five holes were completed. Gateway hired its third RC contractor and deployed five rigs: two reverse-circulation, one diamond, one aircore, and another diamond rig arriving this week.
The two RC rigs are drilling out a combined average of 300 metres per day. Gold prices stay near historic highs.
WA exploration spending hit a record $843.6 million in the June quarter. Gateway holds $52.8 million in cash and already has 400,400 ounces of gold inventory.
The company is using the drilling campaign to follow the Cowza-Celia South trend and test extensions to nearby Horse Well.
