16-year-old airlifted to hospital after e-bike strikes her in NSW
A 16-year-old was struck by an e-bike near Barrack Heights on Sunday night and airlifted to hospital in critical but stable condition.
The girl was walking near Shellharbour Road about 10:50pm on October 4 when she was hit by an e-bike. A 35-year-old rider remained at the scene and returned a positive breath test with a reading of 0.135.
The 35-year-old rider also returned a positive result to cocaine and methylamphetamine. Police say a second e-bike was in the area and left without helping.
That rider has not been identified. The girl was treated by paramedics then flown by rescue helicopter to St George Hospital.
No charges have been laid yet and investigations are continuing.
