Tasmania Devils sack Robbie Fox as VFL captain over behaviour concerns
Former AFL player Robbie Fox was sacked from the Tasmania Devils VFL side over behaviour but retains his off-field role.
Robbie Fox, 33, captained Tasmania Devils in their inaugural VFL season after 105 games with Sydney Swans. Robbie Fox will not get another playing contract over behaviour concerns, the club announced Wednesday.
The Devils cited player behaviour and adherence to standards in the decision. Multiple sources reported Fox was involved in a pub incident in Hobart following a charity golf day with VFL teammates.
Kath McCann said there were situations requiring improvement but declined details. Fox keeps his office role as strategic projects lead.
A journalist was cut off mid-question during the press conference. Fox has not responded to requests for comment.
