Princess Kate guides NHS nurse Harriet Phillips into royal life

Harriet Phillips, who wed Princess Anne's son Peter in June, credits Kate as her guide to adjusting to royal duties.

Harriet Phillips gave her first interview five months after marrying Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, in a June ceremony. The 45-year-old NHS nurse and single mother described how Catherine has helped her settle into the royal fold.

"I can look to Catherine for advice and guidance," Harriet told Hello! magazine.

"She's very open-hearted, and I would always feel comfortable asking her if I needed advice." Their first meeting came during a family holiday where children from both families played together, a relaxed introduction.

Harriet and her daughter Georgina, 14, now live on the Gatcombe Park estate with Peter and his two children from a previous marriage.
