One man rented eight Sydney luxury homes with forged papers, paid nothing
Fraudster Kim Sarkin rented eight luxury Sydney homes with fake documents, owing more than $120,000 in unpaid rent.
A man rented at least eight multimillion-dollar homes across Sydney's eastern suburbs using a false name, Anthony Lark. Anthony Lark is the fake name used by Kim Sarkin, a data and AI governance specialist from South Africa.
Sarkin used doctored passports, fake references, and forged pay slips to fool landlords. Sarkin has failed to pay more than $120,000 in rent.
Most landlords have taken legal action through the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal to evict him. The process takes three to four months.
One property agent, Justine Kidnie, spotted the fraud before handing over keys after noticing a discrepancy in a pay slip. Sarkin's earlier New Zealand business was placed in receivership and then liquidated, owing almost one million New Zealand dollars in unpaid taxes.
