Tasmanian beauty therapist placed 10th at WorldSkills in Shanghai
Twenty-one-year-old Rubi Everard is from Launceston. At the 2026 WorldSkills competition in Shanghai, she competed against 22 beauty therapists from around the world.
Rubi Everard took a college beauty class for fun. She never thought it would start an international career.
The 21-year-old got a Certificate in Retail Cosmetics in year 12. She won awards in the course.
Rubi Everard won gold at the TasTAFE regional WorldSkills competition in 2024. She got a medallion of excellence at the national tournament in Brisbane.
At the international competition in Shanghai, she competed against 22 other beauty therapists from around the world. She placed 10th overall.
Rubi Everard got another medallion of excellence. She now works full-time at Inner Beauty in Launceston.
Her aunty has worked in the beauty industry for 30 years. Rubi is following in her footsteps.
