Four regional towns lose Network 10 broadcast Friday
WIN Network has stopped talks with Network 10, ending broadcast in four regional areas from October 9.
Network 10 is shutting down in four regional areas. Viewers in Mount Gambier and the Riverland in South Australia will lose access, as will viewers in Griffith and the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area in New South Wales.
The channels 10, 10 Drama and 10 Comedy will stop on Friday. WIN Network, which holds the broadcast rights, said it is no longer worth the cost.
The company cited high transmission costs and digital disruption. Audiences and advertising revenue have fallen.
Network 10 provided the feed for free since July while both sides tried to make a deal. It didn't work.
People in these areas can still watch Network 10 online and through its app. This happened once before.
Seven Network left the same regions last year but came back after a few days.
