Canberra's Craft + Design Festival has more than 130 events, much of it free
The theme is Dissent, which the festival CEO says means questioning accepted ways of doing things.
The Craft + Design Canberra Festival runs from 5 to 15 November, with more than 130 events. Much of the program is free, with activities for families, art lovers and architecture fans.
Over 500 creatives will take part, and more than 40 artists will open their studios. The Canberra Kinetic Sculpture Race will test handmade, human-powered machines across land, sand and water.
The 2024 festival drew more than 140,000 visits and public art encounters, including around 90,000 direct attendees. Some events are ticketed, and individual workshops and talks will have limited capacities.
The opening celebration is free and runs in Civic Square on Thursday 5 November.
