On October 23, iconic WA landmarks will light up red. The event is for Light Up WA, a new campaign by Variety WA.

The campaign supports children living with disability, chronic illness and disadvantage across the state. Landmarks taking part include the Bell Tower, Elizabeth Quay, Fremantle Prison, Kings Park, Matagarup Bridge and Optus Stadium.

Regional sites like the Pinjarra town square are also joining. Variety WA CEO Chris Chatterton said the lights send a message to struggling families.

They will see they are noticed and supported. The public can join through a Light Up WA app-guided challenge.

It visits multiple landmarks. The app has QR codes that unlock interactive displays.

You can read stories from WA families and learn about Variety WA's programs. Prizes go to challenge participants.
