Kyle Sandilands hurt by claims his wife married him for money

Kyle Sandilands was stung by online claims his wife married him for money after his radio contract ended.

Kyle Sandilands was stung not by his sacking but by online speculation that his wife Tegan Kynaston would abandon him once his radio deal collapsed. When radio giant ARN tore up his contract, it paid him $12.09 million to walk away.

Sandilands said the cruel comments troubled him most. "The most upsetting thing to me was people saying 'Let's see how long the wife lasts without all that money," he told his show.

"I don't mind being insulted, but to insult my wife to say she's with me for cash is ludicrous and a demented way of thinking." The couple married in 2023 and share a four-year-old son.

They live in a $14 million mansion in Sydney. The Kyle and Jackie O Show ended in March after an on-air clash with co-host Jackie O Henderson, who said she could no longer work with him safely.
