Sydney Swans CEO flags cultural problems after Papley's drug test
CEO Matthew Pavlich acknowledges systemic issues after forward Tom Papley's positive drug test and driving charge.
Tom Papley returned a positive preliminary drug test this week after police pulled him over. Papley also received a court notice for driving on a suspended licence.
The incident comes just weeks after the Pullman Hotel scandal, when five Swans players were suspended for breaking rules. Pavlich said the club is "bitterly disappointed" and has begun "some deep work" on culture with independent advisors.
A second drug test will determine next steps. Pavlich apologised to members, fans and corporate partners.
