Netflix's new reality competition Wonka's The Golden Ticket filmed on the Gold Coast uses AI to resurrect Gene Wilder as host.

Twelve American contestants compete in challenges to win $US3 million (AUD $4.2 million). Pairs of contestants live on a steampunk factory set with marshmallow-themed beds and the Wonkavator prop.
The Sydney-based production company chose the Gold Coast for its studios and for proximity to the team. The show honours the 1971 film while creating a modern reality competition format.
