Perth Royal Show parking funds four local community groups
Four non-profit groups keep all $20-per-vehicle parking revenue during the Perth Royal Show at Lake Claremont.
Four groups run the Lake Claremont parking station during the show: the Lions Club Claremont, Freshwater Bay Primary School P&C Association, Friends of Lake Claremont and the Claremont Lawn Tennis Club.
Each group runs it for two days. The Royal Show brings over 300,000 visitors to the area.
Parking costs $20 per vehicle, and all money goes directly to the groups. The Lions Club funds medical research, youth programs and Alzheimer's research.
The P&C supports school facility upgrades and events. Friends of Lake Claremont looks after local wetland care.
The tennis club is preparing junior sessions and summer competitions. All four are run by volunteers and depend on fundraising to survive.
