Man charged with 20 domestic violence offences denies choking and threats

Kirk Osborne faced Downing Centre Local Court on charges of 20 domestic violence offences, including stalking, assault, choking and sexual touching. Osborne's ex-wife told the court he forced her into a room by the neck, pushed her on a bed and grabbed her vagina while accusing her of cheating.
She said she blacked out and woke with bruises on her neck and body. Osborne admitted grabbing her neck but said he was protecting himself from her attacks.
He denied sexually touching her. The court heard he allegedly sent threatening texts, including that he would kill her if she tried to leave.
Osborne argued the death threats could not have frightened her, saying verbal abuse was common in their two-decade relationship. He is also accused of creating a fake dating profile and posting it on Facebook, and hitting her with a beer can at a cinema.
