Woman charged with second murder as one-year-old dies of wounds
One-year-old dies five days after alleged Blue Mountains stabbing; a sibling also died and one remains critical.
A 42-year-old woman allegedly stabbed three children in a vehicle at Valley Heights in the Blue Mountains on Sunday. A baby has died in a Sydney hospital from the wounds.
The five-year-old died at the scene despite bystanders giving first aid. The three-year-old and one-year-old were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The infant died on Thursday evening; the three-year-old remains in critical condition. The woman, also found with stab wounds, was charged with murder and two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder on Tuesday.
She now faces an extra murder charge over the one-year-old's death. Police said the woman had no prior history with them and are not seeking anyone else.
