Man pleads not guilty to partner's domestic violence murder

Jethro Gamueda appeared in Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday by video link from custody. He pleaded not guilty to domestic violence murder.
He is accused of killing his partner Summer Fleming in his bedroom at Rutherford on or about August 17, 2025. Fleming was found unresponsive the next morning after Gamueda called emergency services.
Prosecutors say they argued all day. Gamueda's actions caused her death, possibly by holding her in a way that stopped her breathing.
The court heard the relationship involved abuse and control. Gamueda remains in custody and will face trial in NSW Supreme Court later this year.
