Former teacher pleads guilty to grooming and indecent assault
Thomas Joseph Clark admitted to grooming a young person for sexual abuse and indecently assaulting them.
A 44-year-old former teacher pleaded guilty to grooming a young person and indecent assault. Thomas Joseph Clark appeared in Launceston Magistrates Court.
Clark elected to have both charges dealt with in the Supreme Court. Police alleged Clark groomed someone who was a child or young person through text messages and in-person contact between January 2018 and March 2020.
Clark also allegedly indecently assaulted them by touching their genitals. Magistrate Evan Hughes granted him bail and ordered him to appear in the Supreme Court on November 6 for sentencing.
