Care manager denies assaulting five female colleagues
Damian Ellis Spohr, 28, pleaded not guilty to 30 sexual assault charges.
Damian Ellis Spohr, a Hunter care manager, appeared in Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday. Spohr was charged with assaulting five female colleagues.
Spohr was accused of sexual intercourse without consent. Spohr was also accused of aggravated sexual assault, intentional choking, and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Prosecutors withdrew four of the 34 counts. Spohr remains in custody after a failed bail application in March.
Spohr was manager of the permanency support program at We Care NSW. We Care NSW is a Maitland disability and child services provider.
Spohr was arrested in December. Spohr will next appear in Newcastle District Court next month.
Spohr will be arraigned and receive a trial date.
