Wendouree home invasion suspect faces court on torture charges
Travis Baxter, 20, faces court over a Wendouree home invasion where residents were bound and one severely beaten.
Police say three men, including brothers Tyler and Travis Baxter, forced their way into a Wendouree house in the early hours of December 2, 2025, one carrying a machete. The three allegedly bound residents' hands using zip ties and duct tape.
One man was kicked in the head, punched repeatedly, had a knife run along his forearm, was hit with the side of a machete and had a dinner plate smashed over his head. They told him they would make him dig his own grave and threatened to set him on fire.
During the assault, a woman had an epileptic seizure but the men allegedly refused to let anyone call for help. They stole a PlayStation and clothing.
One attacker later returned and threw a fire extinguisher at the main target's head. A magistrate expressed concern about bail and adjourned the decision to Friday, October 9.
