Amy Taylor loses fight to block sale of her Vogue Portugal photos
Amy Taylor lost her copyright battle over commercial use of photos taken by Jamie Nelson.
Amy Taylor, the lead singer of Amyl and the Sniffers, has settled her year-long copyright dispute with photographer Jamie Nelson. The case was dismissed October 28 by mutual agreement, with no money changing hands.
Nelson took the photos for Vogue Portugal in May 2025. Taylor agreed to the shoot but objected when Nelson wanted to sell the images as art prints for $1,500 to $18,000 each.
Nelson offered Taylor 15 percent of sales. But Taylor refused, saying she had agreed only to editorial use.
The settlement lets Nelson continue selling the 38 images in the series.
